The 23rd Special Volume of the noted international series, Recent Advances in Pediatrics, aims at covering the topical issues in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. The 27 peer-reviewed, evidence-based, and state-of-the-art chapters, contributed by 36 experts drawn from India and abroad, attempt to review the depth and breadth of knowledge in the field of neonatal and pediatric intensive care with special reference to its applicability in Indian subcontinent. Each and every chapter is remarkable in its excellence, providing a stimulating, matured, informed, and, not infrequently, even provocative updates. Understandably, such an approach is befitting when the goal is not only to inform but also to motivate discussion, interaction, research, and innovation. In keeping with the professed policy of the RAP series, a multidisciplinary approach with an eye on future continues to occupy a pride of place in this volume as well. While providing an academic feast in a holistic manner, the treatise should be a landmark in translating pediatric advances from benchside to bedside and beyond to the community across the board.
