This book is nicely organized in eleven sections with 52 chapters and covers the entire spectrum of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Hysteroscopy. General topics related to anatomy, entry, tissue retrieval, suturing, electrosurgery and other energy sources, ultrasonography and anesthesia. Next is management of adnexal masses. Endometriosis the growing enigma, has been adequately discussed in a complete section. Infertility the complex problem, unfolds with use of laparoscopy for evaluation and management of tubes. Hysterectomy the most commonly performed gyne surgery has been exquisitely dealt with in at least seven chapters providing complete coverage. Pelvic floor disorders and incontinence surgeries are covered in a separate section giving complete coverage in a comprehensive manner. Microsurgery and Myomectomy are duly described. Another section deals with laparoscopy in varied situations like pregnancy, tuberculosis, chronic pelvic pain. Complications of hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are covered in a separate section. Few techniques described in the first textbook did not look relevant in the present scenario and have been dropped. All the same, latest technological advances like Robotic Surgery, Cosmetic Gynecology, Single Port Access and NOTES have been included with lots of color illustrations. The Hysteroscopy section has all new look with new chapters and fully revised older chapters. The Atlas consists of a text explanation that details the steps of various surgical procedures and includes around 2,000 high-resolution color photographs illustrating the each surgical step. Furthermore, this book represents a who’s who in the world of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and is a must have for every gynecologic laparoscopic surgeon’s library.
