The book Manual of Cervical Cytology and Colposcopy will be helpful for clinicians to take Pap smears, perform visual inspection of cervix, cytology and colposcopy. The manual comprises of three chapters. First chapter focuses on Cervical Cytology which is a screening tool for detecting cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in healthy women. Indications of Pap smear, Papanicolaou’s staining technique are discussed. Smears obtained can be classified into various types and reported according to different classification systems. Visual Inspection is the preferred method, though new technologies like cervicography, electronic detection and use of polar probe are being used. Second chapter discusses history and Introduction to Colposcopy. Indication for colposcopy, colposcopic examination, its findings, Transformation Zone, technique of vaginal coloposcopy, and colposcopy of uvula are discussed.
