Chiedza G. Jokonya, MD, DTM&H-Faculty, Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency Program, Augusta, MaineBorn in Chivu, Zimbabwe, Africa, Dr. Jokonya grew up in England. She has practiced both pediatric and adult medicine in different cities in Africa and in England. In addition, she has worked as a director for a clinic specializing in family practice for the diplomatic, international and expatriate community in Malawi. Chi has received a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK and a Certificate of Tropical Epidemiology from the Swiss Tropical Institute, Basle, Switzerland. Her volunteer activities are international in scope, including relief work in Haiti, as well as founding a trust to support a variety of social and economic development programs in her home district, Chikomba.
Chi joined the faculty of MDFMR in Augusta in 2007 and is currently coordinator of the Pediatric Curriculum at the residency.
