This Textbook of Pediatric Infectious Diseases has been designed to be useful to both students and practicing pediatricians. This book includes the common bacterial infections, infections associated with different organ systems and tropical infectious diseases. Emphasis has been given to include those infections which are re-emerging causing considerable mortality and morbidity. The book provides an outline about the mechanism of different types of infections and drug resistance with precautions to be taken both in hospital and office practice to prevent infection.
